Since Assassin's Creed Odyssey was announced, the one thing that I've been most interested in is seeing how Ubisoft would decide to tackle myths and gods as we traverse through Greece.

Well, those answers were made just a bit clearer to me after I was recently able to go hands-on with Assassin's Creed Odyssey in a pre-Gamescom event hosted by Ubisoft. The demo that I played of the game found me trying to hunt down the Gorgon, Medusa. This late game side quest took me to a variety of different areas across the island of Lesbos before finally culminating in a fight with the serpent-headed monster.

If you want to specifically just want to see the Medusa boss fight without having to watch everything that leads up to it, skip forward to about the 34:00-minute mark in the video. The fight wasn't only quite tough and took me a few tries to beat, I also found it to be one of the most enjoyable bosses that I've seen in an Assassin's Creed game in quite some time. If the rest of the game has moments that are just as good as this, then Odyssey has the chance to be very special.

The full 40-minute video for Assassin's Creed Odyssey is at the bottom of the page. The game is slated to release on October 5 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Pre-order now over on Amazon if you like what you see in the video.
