Today the Fench website JeuxVideo Live published the image of what appears merchandise from a new Assassin's Creed game, allegedly titled Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

The item in question is a keychain portraying what appears to be a Spartan helmet, which suggests that the franchise is moving to Greece with its next installment. At the moment we have no confirmation whatsoever about the legitimacy of the leak, but we reached out to Ubisoft for a comment and we'll let you know if we hear anything relevant. One thing is for sure: if this is a fake, it's incredibly well made.

If this is indeed legitimate, the odds are pretty high that we're going to hear something at E3. During its latest financial conference call, the publisher did mention that they have a game from an unannounced AAA franchise scheduled for this fiscal year (before March 31st, 2019). To be fully honest, I interpreted it as a new franchise, but they did not say "new."

Just a few days ago, they teased "surprise" announcements, and this would indeed be surprising.

The publisher will host its press conference at 1:00 PM Pacific Time on Monday, June 11th, at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. Unless they spill the beans early, we'll probably hear more then.
