Today Ubisoft hosted a press event in Shibuya, Tokyo, to celebrate the upcoming launch of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. DualShockers was in attendance.
The event was hosted at the Café Bohemia in Shibuya, a venue known among locals for its gypsy inspiration and its belly dance shows.
For the occasion, the place will be temporarily transformed into the Odyssey Cafe by Assassin’s Creed, one of those collaboration cafes that are extremely popular in Japan.
The presentation was headlined by Ubisoft Asia Managing Director Steve Miller, who mentioned how the series has now sold over 100 million units cumulatively. He added how it’s now possible to select the playable character among Alexios and Kassandra, and since the game is an RPG, fans of the genre should also check it out.
After that, idol Moga Mogami appeared on stage dressed as Kassandra. She described how she is a gamer herself, and she enjoyed Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. She played a quest on stage and defeated a few enemies, before thoroughly enjoying taking a good look at a soldier’s butt while carrying him on her shoulders. No. I’m not joking. Japan gonna Japan, and I’m not complaining either.
We also took a look at the dedicated menu for the collaboration cafe, which will be open between September 29th and October 8th. It includes four different themed dishes priced between 1,000 and 1,800 yen, four non-alcoholic cocktails, and four with alcohol, priced between 800 and 1.300 yen.
Customers who dine at the cafe will also receive one of four collectible coasters.
Merchandise will be available for purchase at the venue, alongside a demo station to try the game out.
The game will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 5th, with two days of early access if you purchase one of the special editions.
Assassn’s Creed Odyssey game is already available for pre-order on Amazon.
