Aside from pushing the series into a new direction, last fall's Assassin's Creed Origins was praised for its setting and attention to detail to the culture of Egypt, and now players will be able to dig deeper into Egyptian history next week with the release of the Discovery Tour Mode.

Ubisoft announced that Discovery Tour Mode will be heading to Assassin's Creed Origins on February 20th, 2018 as a free update for all owners of the game on all platforms. Additionally, a standalone version of the feature will be available exclusively on PC (through Steam and Uplay) for $19.99.

The mode itself is dedicated to teaching players about ancient Egyptian history and culture, and will feature 75 different guided tours exploring the different facets of Egypt. The mode lets players explore and discover more about Egypt's culture at their own pace, and five main themes will guide players through each of the tours based around the subjects of Egypt, the Pyramids, Alexandria, Egyptian Daily Life, and the Romans.

Each of the tours range from about 5-25 minutes in length, and players can also choose their own avatars (from a roster of 25) to use while exploring in the mode, from characters in Assassin's Creed Origins like Bayek and Aya, to historical figures like Cleopatra and Caesar that make an appearance in the game. Players can also utilize Photo Mode to take pictures during their explorations in Discovery Tour Mode to capture the landscapes of Egypt, while the mode will even feature some new Achievements/Trophies for players to unlock (though no other rewards or in-game bonuses will be offered).

Assassin's Creed Origins is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and the new Discovery Tour Mode feature will be introduced on February 20th, 2018.
