If you are on the lookout for a few tips and tricks to help you when starting out in Valhalla then read on below.

10 Use Odin's Sight

AC Valhalla Odins Sight Scan

A great aspect of this game is Odin's Sight, this is the ability to send out a sort of radar that will highlight enemies for you and show you where loot is. It is great to use when you are trying to do stealth and want to know where all the enemies are around you.

If you are low on health, and you want to find food and berries to top up your health then, Odin's Sight is great for this as it will show up lootable objects for you.

9 Synchronize On High Points

AC Valhalla High Point on Map

There are High Points located all over the map in different regions and areas. These have been around in all Assassin's Creed games for you to climb and Synchronize a location. By doing this at High Points you open up more of the map, so it will show you where more things are like loot and possible raids you can do.

As well as this they also are then activated as a Fast Travel sight, so you can get around the map a lot quicker than having to just ride your horse around.

8 Utilize Your Raven

AC Valhalla Ravens Sight

The Raven like Senui in the previous game can be used to assess an area and see what is there. It also can be used to locate quest items and locations for when you are on a quest in that area. Another great use of the Raven is to tag Enemies and specific areas to put waypoints on your map, this helps you avoid certain areas when exploring or sneaking around.

You can then easily get to a location without having to constantly use the Raven to see where it is.

7 Learn To Read Your Enemies

AC Valhalla Enemy Attack Auras

When fighting in Valhalla there will be on-screen indicators that show what the enemy is going to do in combat. If they have a red aura when about to attack, this is an unblockable attack, and you need to dodge. When they have an orange aura, this attack is blockable but will use more stamina to block and is harder to Parry.

Then they can attack with no Aura, this is just a normal attack and can be blocked and parried, with little use of stamina. By learning this and perfecting it, you are going to find it much easier to fight stronger enemies and defeat weaker enemies more quickly.

6 Always Check Your Inventory For Better Gear

AC Valhalla Inventory Showing Upgrades

It can be easy to miss when you get a new piece of armor or a new weapon, so you need to check your inventory for any increased Gear you might have. You can also upgrade armor and weapons a certain amount of times depending on the quality of the equipment, so when you have collected resources you can use them to upgrade that armor or weapon to make it stronger and unlock more rune slots. Which goes on to the next point of checking your inventory for rune slots.

Runes give you passive upgrades on weapons and armor when slotted, like increased melee damage or stronger against bow damage, etc. These Runes can help you a lot in fights especially as you come up against stronger enemies. So always make sure you have slotted runes where you can and to see what runes you have and if they are better than what you have already slotted in your armor or weapons.

5 Try To Stun Enemies

AC Valhalla Stun Attack

When coming up against big groups of enemies or stronger enemies on their own, try to stun them. Stunning them is done when you take down their stun meter above their health to empty. This then staggers them, and they cannot attack, this is great in big groups as it takes them out of action, so you can focus on others.

It also allows for you to do a stun finisher on them which is quicker than hitting them until they are down to no health, so there are many positives to stunning enemies. To stun them you can either parry enough of their attacks or do enough damage to stun them.

4 Complete Raids

AC Valhalla Raid Initiation

Completing Raids is an important part of the game, these were something that the Vikings did across History. Partaking in Raids will help you to get better Weapons and Armor, they are also great for getting lots of silver to pay for upgrades and other resources.

Raids are initiated when you reach a stronghold in your Longship, you can initiate the raid and then storm the Stronghold, you need to defeat the enemies and burn down buildings to complete it. Then you can help yourself to all the loot you can find.

3 Make Sure To Use Your Skill Points

AC Valhalla Skill Points and Skill Tree

In Valhalla, you have multiple Skill Trees you can unlock skills in. These will give you different passives to unlock and increase things like Melee Damage, increase Health, increase long-range attacks, etc. You will be rewarded Skill Points for completing main quests and Side Quests, make sure you check whether you have skill points to spend, so you can unlock different skills and buffs. There are three skill trees that branch off, you can choose to focus on one of them or put skills into a combination of different ones.

Early on it can be best to do a combination of skills. This will help to level your character in a way that you are not neglecting things like health and bow damage. It can be easy to just throw all points into the Melee weapon damage, but this will restrict you in other ways. If you think you have made a mistake, or you are unhappy with the Skill Tree you are developing you can reset all your points and build up a different Skill Tree.

2 Don't Always Get Rid Of Gear

AC Valhalla Inventory

Armor and Weapons have different qualities like legendary and basic. It can be easy to pick up a new weapon that is stronger and just swap it out and sell the other one to make room or get silver. However, because you can upgrade weapons it may be worth hanging on to it to upgrade it, especially if it is a high-quality weapon or piece of armor.

Some Weapons upgrade better than others with more slots to upgrade and more rune slots to unlock, making them actually stronger overall once leveled.

1 Make Use Of The Quick Action Wheel

AC Valhalla Quick Actions

With the Quick Action Wheel, you can call your mount, start a raid, get a torch, meditate, call your longship when near water, and put up your hood for going incognito. This is a great tool to utilize as it will make things a lot easier as you go through the game instead of having to do things the long-winded way.

Especially the ability to call your ship or mount as this makes map traversal a lot quicker and easier, you can also quick save from the Action Wheel. As you progress through the game more actions will become available to you.
