PlayStation VR title Astro Bot Rescue Mission is now available for $39.99 USD and a new launch trailer shows off many of the features, locations, and bosses in the platforming game.

This virtual reality game is an evolution of a smaller mini-game from Playroom VR: Robot Rescue. In it Astro Bot would go around levels saving other bots, collecting coins, and traversing platforming obstacles with the help of the Dualshock 4. This mode became so popular with fans that Japan Studio decided to create an expanded version that became Astro Bot Rescue Mission. A lot of ideas were generated but not included during the development of Playroom VR that ended up getting carried over and implemented in this new game.

Astro Bot Rescue Mission was announced during the PlayStation E3 2018 press conference and the latest in a trend of PlayStation VR titles to release this fall. You can watch Japan Studio developers discuss the origins of the game, as well as the launch trailer, below.

ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission is a new VR platformer created exclusively for PS VR. In the game you take control of Astro, the captain of a spaceship traveling in search for his lost crew. The adventure spans across 26 levels that take the platforming genre to new heights with 360 degree VR gameplay, huge towering bosses, precise controls and a good dose of challenge and humor!
