System Era Softworks' latest trailer from E3 2018 announces that its spacey title Astroneer will be launching version 1.0 this year.

In a spacey looking trailer that features shots such as a large round planet that looks rather polygonal, a space station that launches little pods towards the said planet, we get to see a bunch of gameplay. We see players morphing the world around them, offensive enemies, cave exploration, and various types of planets to explore and build upon.

Astroneer has a roadmap that details that on the day of launch, it will feature a narrative, updates to research systems, new resource types, new vehicles and modules, a mac version, and more. Post-launch we can expect to see liquid on planets, cartography, support for mods, weather systems, and much more. You can find out more about these future plans through the trello page.

Back in December 2017 we saw a one-year anniversary patch arrive to Astroneer, this celebrated the shift into the alpha stage of development. It was also part of Microsoft's announcement when they stated that over one-hundred games will be receiving Xbox One X enhancements.

Astroneer will be launching out of Early Access sometime in December 2018. It's available for PC and Xbox One currently, but plans for Linux and Mac versions are in the works.
