This week, Asus has announced a brand-new RGB gaming headset with its ever-growing list of gaming peripherals - the ROG Strix Fusion 500. However, unlike most RGB gaming headsets available on the market, this new piece of hardware allows gamers, particularly esports competitors to synchronize their RGB light to match with their corresponding team colors.

Visually, the ROG Strix Fusion 500 bears some similarities to the ROG Strix Fusion 300. However, the Fusion 500 offers additional design upgrades. Several notable features include a gold colored metal earcup cover, up to 24 bits of lossless playback, 96kHz, 9601 headphone amp, and an intuitive touch plate, which allows players to adjust commonly used settings such as the volume and the headset's RGB lighting display. Additionally, the Asus ROG Strix Fusion 500 includes a USB 2.0 connector, which allows extensive compatibility support for with Windows PCs, Macs, as well as the PlayStation 4.

While those features can be arguably worth the price of admission alone, one of the most significant features offered on the Fusion 500 is the 7.1-channel virtual surround sound support is completely functional by the press of a button. Unlike its competitor products, which require drivers or specifically-designed software to monitor the surround sound, making this one of the most ambitious headsets to date.

Currently, the Asus ROG Strix Fusion 500 does not have an official release date. However, the headset is anticipated to launch sometime this month for $179.99.
