Koei Tecmo launched the first trailer for the newest entry in the Gust developed Atelier series, Atelier Lydie & Suelle: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting, coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch in winter 2017 in Japan.

The trailer shows new gameplay and story scenes that introduce the series' new protagonists Lydie and Suelle. The game is set in the same timeline as the other "Mysterious" Atelier titles, which includes characters from Atelier Sophie and Atelier Firis.

Additionally, the trailer shows a rather interesting design direction for the seres featuring a more colorful pastel look, almost storybook like which would fit the game's titles.

In Atelier Lydie & Suelle: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting, two Atelier owners, Lydie and Suelle, live in the capital of the Kingdom of Adallet. Returning character, Sophie Neuenmuller, discovers their shop and decides to become their mentor. However, she is still searching for something of her own, but would gladly put her friends needs before hers.

Many new characters will make an appearance in Atelier Lydie & Suelle: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting, which will be the last entry of the trilogy, so hopefully fans will gain closure on what exactly Sophie has been up too for all these years.

There is currently no western release announcement.
