Atelier Meruru Is a Thing, It Takes Place After Totori

If you didn’t understand that title, I don’t blame you. You would have to be following along with the latest Atelier titles from Gust, only one of which has been released in North America, to know what is going on here. There are three games set in the realm of Arland – Atelier Rorona, Atelier Totori and now the follow-up, Atelier Meruru, according to the latest issue of Famitsu.

This time around Gust has put more options to customize both the world around you and your alchemy creations. Both Totori and Rorona appear in the game. Totori is Meruru’s teacher and Rorona is…a little girl? How does this happen in a game that’s supposed to take place well after Atelier Rorona? I have no idea, I guess only time will tell, right? Regardless, this game will be released on June 23, 2011 in Japan, most likely followed by a North American release by NIS America sometime in 2012 (just speculation people, don’t jump on me if it doesn’t happen, it just seems like these titles take a while to localize).
