Atelier Ryza 2 release date set for January 26, 2021 in North America, with the Premium Box Limited Edition also coming over from Japan.

October 15, 2020

On October 15, Koei Tecmo and Gust announced the western release date of Atelier Ryza 2, launching in America on January 26 and in Europe on January 29, on PC via Steam, PS5 (digital-only), PS4, and Switch.

A Limited Edition for Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy was also announced. It’s up for preorder on the Koei Tecmo Europe online shop, and should be up soon on the NIS America shop for USA:

It’s identical to the Japanese Premium Box Limited Edition. However, the Japanese Gust Shop also has a very pricey Special Collection Box Limited Edition that’s not coming over. Check it out with our past coverage.

Players who preorder the physical version will also receive DLC costumes for Ryza, the “Beware of Puni!” and the “Blue Puni Costume” t-shirts:

As a reminder, those who buy Atelier Ryza 2 during its first two weeks of release, digitally or physically, will receive an Early Purchase Bonus, the Summer Fashion Costume Set for all party members:

Furthermore, players who played the first game, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, and kept their saves, will unlock the Classic Costume Set. These are the Atelier Ryza 1 costumes for all the returning characters, Ryza, Klaudia, Lent, and Tao:

Multiple new side characters were revealed as well, alongside new gameplay mechanics. We’ll get to them in a separate article. Meanwhile, you can check the latest comments from Producer Junzo Hosoi and Ryza’s seiyuu Yuri Noguchi, shared at TGS 2020. In a recent interview, Producer Junzo Hosoi also explained Ryza was supposed to the protagonist of two games from the start. You can also check out what has changed compared to the first game. Koei Tecmo also published really cool character designer references sheets.

As for consoles in Japan, Atelier Ryza 2 will launch there a few weeks earlier, on PS4 and Switch on December 3, 2020.
