Atelier Ryza Is Coming to Switch and Steam Along PS4; First Screenshots and Backgrounds Video Revealed (Updated)
Following leaks, Atelier Ryza was officially revealed for PS4, Switch, and PC with screenshots.
Koei Tecmo and Gust officially revealed the next Atelier game, titled Atelier Ryza. The game was announced in this month’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine and this week’s issue of Famitsu, for PS4, Switch, and Steam. Leaks from the magazine previously only revealed the PS4 release of Atelier Ryza.
Atelier Ryza, or Raiza, or however you want to spell it, will launch on PS4 and Switch in Japan in Fall 2019. The Japanese Steam release, however, will launch later than that. It’s highly possible it will launch at the same time as the game’s western version, which wasn’t announced yet. I’m curious as to how the name of the protagonist will be localized, though I personally don’t mind different spellings, unlike complete name changes.
You can also find below multiple screenshots of Atelier Ryza showing some battles, the alchemy, and some story events, all from Dengeki PlayStation. Nearly all the text information found in the magazines was already covered in the previous article covering the leak. I’m personally not into Atelier enough to spend time reading and translating everything, especially since a press release with all the info will be coming with the western announcement anyway.
Update: The Japanese official site opened with direct-feed screenshots and artwork of protagonist Reisaline Stout along with a short video showing environments.
Atelier Ryza Character designer Toridamono published an illustration on Twitter as well. Toridamono said it’s an honor to be working on Atelier Ryza and an unexpected opportunity.
