Today Gust revealed a new batch of screenshots of the upcoming JRPG for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita Atelier Sophie: Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, that will hit the Japanese shelves on September 25th.

We learn more about the protagonist Sophie Neuenmuller, sixteen¬†years old. She’s bright and easy going, at times even to the point of being way too unguarded. She loves alchemy and her biggest pleasure in life is to use it to help others. She’s very interested in it, but on the other hand she bad as housework, and especially at cleaning.

Her counterpart is Plachta, she’s actually an ancient alchemy book awakened by Sophie by writing formulae on her pages. She can take the appearance of a sixteen year old, but still provides advice about alchemy even in that form. Unfortunately she lost her memory, and with it many of her original formulae. She’s calm, but also surprisingly bold.

In order to recover Plachta’s memories, Sophie sets out on her journey.¬†New alchemy recipes are born from born ideas that can come from materials or events, items or even battle.

In addition to that, we can also see the “Doll make-up” feature, with which we can combine materials obtained with alchemy with Plachta’s body in order to change her appearance and evolve her battle prowess.
