Atlus announced today with a press release that the company has officially started business under the original “Atlus” name after the bankruptcy of former parent company Index Corporation and the acquisition by Sega.

In addition to this the company got a brand new logo, that you can see above.

The company explained the decision with a statement:

About the new “Atlus” logo, with the support of our customers we want to continue the unique development of Atlus with even more flexibility and freedom. We brushed up our image while inheriting the past, with the wish of standing out even more and sharpening Atlus’ individual style further.

A new corporate website was also opened, alongside with a promise:

We will continue to strive as the newborn “Atlus” in order to give the world games that surpass everyone’s expectations. We look forward to your continued patronage and to the honor of working with you.

After Index’ Bankruptcy many were concerned about the future of one of the most beloved JRPG developers in the industry. It’s refreshing and exciting to see them raise from Index’s ashes ready to bring us more great games.

One thing is for sure: more news about Persona 5 can’t come soon enough.
