I will do my best so readers will be happy they kept following the series till its end."

"This manga was supposed to end, but was prolonged by the editorial department since it's popular, so that's why it sucks now" is one of the most spread type of rumors in the manga industry. It does have some truth to it too. As such, it's newsworthy and interesting to see Isayama directly bring it up like this. That rumor is also a very easy to believe-in justification when one of your favorite mangaka starts making very questionable story choices. That way, you can easily fool yourself and avoid seeing the truth of how that author can make mistakes too. At least that's what happened with me, and a certain manga I feel like Bleaching out of my brain past a certain arc comes to mind.

Attack on Titan, known as Shingeki no Kyojin in Japan, started in September 2009. The series is ending after 11 years.

The first anime adaptation in 2013 made Isayama's work popular worldwide. The anime also made a whole new generation of anime fans discover musical group Sound Horizon and its leader Revo. The first AoT anime OP was heavily parodied as well. Attack on Titan The Final Season is currently airing since December 7, 2020.

Last but not least, as you probably already know, one of the inspirations for Attack on Titan was Muv-Luv . When Muv-Luv's developer âge celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019. Hajime Isayama shared some comments on the matter. He most notably mentioned he finished Muv-Luv Alternative in two days and to this day it's still the game he was engrossed in the most, ever. Isayama also jokingly mentioned he wanted to make Attack on Titan just as intricate as Muv-Luv, but couldn’t, and gave up.
