As you already know, and you've possibly read the ending yourself, Attack on Titan, one of the most popular manga of the last decade, reached its conclusion with chapter 139, and several fans noted certain similarities and links with the Parasitic Jaeger - but how is a bird is linked to all the AOT hype? We explained everything below.

Needless to say, this story contains several AOT spoilers, including from the final chapter and ending.

The Parasitic Jaeger and Attack on Titan

The Parasitic Jaeger is a seabird of the Skua family. The name Skua comes from the island of Skúvoy, an island part of the Faroe Islands in Danemark, known for it colony of that bird. The bird mainly breeds in the north of Europe, Asia, and North America.

Moreover, the Parasitic Jaeger is a migrant bird, traveling the seas depending on the seasons. So it can be a symbol of freedom.

AOT 139 And the Parasitic Jaeger connection

The final chapter, AOT 139, features a bird symbolizing Eren, and possibly hinting that he was reincarnated into that bird. It's left to your own interpretation. And while some fans call it a dove, others identified the bird as a Parasitic Jaeger.

It's also interesting to note that the bird already appeared multiple times in the AOT manga and anime seasons. So it was actually intentional.

Memes and fake theories

Following this discovery, several AOT fans, some who disliked the ending and want to dunk on "Isayama's genius" ironically, or some who simply want to have fun, have been sharing fake theories on the bird. Such as claiming there is a deep signification to the number 139 - the number of the final chapter- linked with the Parasitic Jaeger. A lot of Parasiti Jaeger x Eren fanart is going around as well.

Lastly, some AOT fans are already making memes videos about the ending as well, using animal documentary footage of the Parasitic Jaeger captured by ornithologists.

  • AOT ANIME - When is Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 coming?

While the AOT manga ended, several fans believe a continuation could happen. For now, Isayama Hajime didn't say or hint at anything through interviews, comments, and the like. We'll be sure to tell you if we hear something though.
