Attack on Titan 2’s New Screenshots Show Multiplayer, Customization and a Bunch of Old Dudes
Koei Tecmo has released a batch of new screenshots of Attack on Titan 2, including a look on multiplayer and new playable characters.
Today Koei Tecmo released a new gallery of screenshots and information about the upcoming game Attack on Titan 2.
First of all, we get four new playable characters. Despite the fact that they aren’t exactly in their twenties anymore, looks like they still fancy fighting titans.
An instructor in the Cadet Corps who unsparingly trained the 104th Cadet Corps. He has a keen eye for talent and is able to accurately analyze the abilities of all who pass through the Cadet Corps.
A Captain of the Garrison Regiment who was assigned to the Trost District. Although he is generally a dedicated soldier, his timidy and nervousness leads him to declare Eren a threat after his ability to transform into a Titan was discovered. He attempts to have Eren killed due to his ability but was soon stopped by Pyxis.
The Commander of the Garrison Regiment. Highly trusted by Premier Zachary, he was given full authority in defending humanity’s most vital lands in the southern territories. Although he displays remarkable adaptability and the qualities of a strong leader, his open-ended thinking that at times borders on the extreme earned him a reputation as a “natural eccentric”. This reputation is further complemented by his unrivaled love for a drink. It is well-known that he carries his flask everywhere, even while delivering commands on the front lines.
The Premier who holds supreme command over all three regiments: the Military Police, the Garrison, and the Scout Regiments. When Eren was brought in front of a special military tribunal for his ability to transform into a Titan, Zachary gave audience to the opinions of each regiment before passing the final judgement that would decide Eren’s fate- ultimately assigning him in the Scout Regiment.
We aòsp get to learn more of the multiplayer modes. First of all, we take a look at the 4 vs. 4 Annihilation Mode, that sets two teams to compete on who can get the highest score before the time limit expires. Working together to defeat titans is crucial in order to win.
A chain bonus will be awarded to teams that will defeat titans as a unit, and destroying their limbs before the kill also grants a higher score. Team members have blue lines connecting them.
During the last minute of each match, points earned are doubled, and it’s possible to communicate with team members with gestures and messages featuring popular lines from the anime.
Of course, a co-op mode is also available. Both the story mode and Scout Mission can be tackled cooperatively. You can also collaborate with friends to develop new equipment, spending less materials than you would by yourself.
We also get to see more about the customization of our hero, that lets us change body shape, hairstyle, facial features, clothing, and tone of voice.
You can check out all the screenshots below. If you want to see more, you can also check out another batch of screenshots from earlier this month, the latest story trailer, more screenshots introducing more members of the cast, a recent gameplay trailer, the first gameplay and even more action which we filmed off the screen of a demo station at Paris Games Week.
Attack on Titan 2 will release in the west for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 20th, 2018. The Japanese launch will come just five days earlier, on March 15th.
