July is such a busy month in Pokemon GO that we're only three days in and the month's Community Day has already been and gone.

That means, that once the anniversary celebrations and GO Fest are out of the way, people are going to be looking ahead to the August 2021 Community Day.

So, as I like to do, with varying success, here are my predictions for next month's August 2021 Community Day and the Pokemon we may see.

Axew

Last month I said that I'm not going to stop predicting Axew until it actually gets a Community Day. I'm sticking to my guns and popping it down again.

There are so many good reasons for Niantic to drop one of the rarest Pokemon:

  • It looks great both Shiny and Non-Shiny
  • Rare and will help people to fill their 'Dex
  • Can shake-up the meta

I think it's highly unlikely this will happen, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop beating the drum!

Darumaka

Another one I predicted last month that I'd love to see is Darumaka.

Two forms, cool Shiny variants and solid stats mean this one would definitely be welcome, plus, as I said last month, Niantic could make this really special.

Southern Hemisphere countries, which are in the winter, would receive Galarian Darumaka, Northern Hemisphere countries, which are in the summer, could receive standard Darumaka.

Then, come the end of the year, when Niantic inevitably throws the “Super Community Day”, the hemispheres would have switched seasons and the Darumaka could switch with it.

Me, last month.

Drilbur

Excadrill is starting to really find its place in the Pokemon GO meta.

Its Steel/Ground-type combination and solid stats make it a force to be reckoned with and given a special Community Day move, Excadrill could become a certified beast.

Couple that with the fact that Drilbur's Shiny form has yet to be released and I feel this one could be likely.

Sticking with Gen V, my next prediction is Klink.

Klink has only ever been available in Pokemon GO raids and there surely has to be a time when it becomes more widely available.

It's not exactly a highly sought after Pokemon, however, if players are given the opportunity to capture its Shiny form at better odds, there would surely be minimal complaints.

Phanpy

All of Kanto's Pokemon and the majority of Johto's Shiny forms have been released in the wild now, but one that is suspiciously absent is Phanpy (and Donphan).

As far as I remember, Donphan was seen as one of the "coolest" new Pokemon when it was revealed way back when and it makes sense for Niantic to finish up all of the previous shiny forms now!
