Today, Microsoft announced the Xbox Games with Gold offering for August 2017, which for those that don't know, are the on-the-house games you will get if you're an Xbox Gold subscriber for said month. The offering includes two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games that are playable on Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility.

Below, you can view the full lineup:

  • Slime Rancher (Xbox One) (Available August 1 – 31) (Normally $19.99 USD)
  • Trails Fusion (Xbox One) (Available August 16 – September 15) (Normally $14.99 USD)
  • Bayonetta (Xbox 360 and Xbox One via backward compatibility) (August 1 – 15) (Normally $19.99 USD)
  • Red Faction: Armageddon (Xbox 360 and Xbox One via backward compatibility) (August 16 – 31) (Normally $29.99 USD)

According to Microsoft, August's lineup provides over $89 dollars in value and the potential to rack up 4000 gamerscore.

As you may know, Slime Rancher is a life simulation game developed and published by Monomi Park. The game first released via Steam Early Access back in January 2016, and will make its full-debut this August on PC, Mac, Linux, and Xbox One. Meanwhile, Trails Fusion is a platforming racing game developed by RedLynx in collaboration with Ubisoft. It first released back in 2014, and is notably the fifth game in the Trails series.

As for the Xbox 360 games, Red Faction: Armageddon is the fourth installment in the series that hit back in 2011. Meanwhile, Bayonetta released back in 2009, where it cemented itself as one of the best and most celebrated games of last console generation and propelled developer PlatinumGames into the upper echelon of video game development.
