About Samuel Woods
Sam (He/Him) is the Managing Editor at DualShockers. He's been in and around games media for four years now and has held a variety of roles within the industry, including staff writer, SEO editor, managing editor and global head of gaming content.
During this time, he's hosted a PAX panel, interviewed game directors, reviewed some of the biggest games and covered some of the hottest news stories.
He's been playing video games for as long as he can remember, and you can regularly find him on his PS5 or Nintendo Switch. When he's not playing games, he'll no doubt be suffering watching his beloved Ipswich Town.
Industry Focus
I'm currently in my second spell as the managing editor for DualShockers - when I'm not strategizing on the cool things we can do for the site, you'll usually find me covering something Nintendo-related.
Favorite Games and Genres
My top five games of all time are probably The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Persona 5 Royal , Super Mario 64, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Hollow Knight. I tend to spend a lot of time playing Metroidvanias, Action-adventure games and JRPGs.
First Game Console and Preferred Platforms
My first console was the N64, I currently own a PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X, alongside almost every Nintendo console ever made, every PlayStation console ever made, an Xbox One X, Xbox 360, and a Sega Dreamcast.
