Mothership Entertainment and Team17 released a new gameplay video for their upcoming game Aven Colony today. This video focuses on the console versions, and its new new radial control scheme.

The trailer shows off how this new control scheme works in all aspects of gameplay, including the game's building and upgrading menus. Poor control is usually a major problem in console versions of games in this genre, so it is nice to see developers trying to take steps to improve the game's control and make Aven Colony just as fun on consoles as would be on PC.

For those who don't know, Aven Colony is set on a planet named Aven Prime. Players take control of  humanity’s first settlement outside of our Solar System. Aven Prime is home to tons of different environments, including deserts, jungles, and islands. Players aren't alone though, as the planet is inhabited by giant sandworms and the dreaded ‘creep’, which will infect one's settlement if it reaches there.

You can watch the gameplay trailer below. Aven Colony will be releasing on July 25 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Those who pre-order will get the game at a 10% discount and receive an additional sandbox map called Cerulean Vale, which lets players "explore its treacherous badlands and discover the remnants of an ancient seabed in this stunning new biome.”
