More information on next week's showing of The Game Awards continues to be released, but this new announcement of a tandem that will be in attendance is perhaps the most eyebrow-raising of all so far.Geoff Keighley recently announced on Twitter that Joe and Anthony Russo, the brothers in charge of directing both this year's Avengers: Infinity War and next year's highly-anticipated sequel Avengers 4, will be in attendance at The Game Awards. Keighley didn't say how the Russo brothers will be integrated into the program but simply urged fans not to miss the stream. The Russo's involvement at The Game Awards could be as simple as them wanting to appear at the program and have some fun. The pair has been candid about the fact that they enjoy playing video games themselves so maybe they just want to show up, present an award, and leave. That would be fine and all, but conspiracy theory Logan thinks that there is something much bigger at play here.Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics are currently developing The Avengers Project, which was originally revealed in early 2017. At its time of the announcement, Square Enix said there would be more info on the game dropping in 2018. Well, the year is almost over and we still have yet to hear a word about it. Could we finally get our first extended look at the project at The Game Awards, as presented by the Russo brothers? It'd seem to make sense. The other likelihood is that perhaps the Russos will be debuting the new trailer for Avengers 4 at The Game Awards. The sequel to Infinity War has yet to receive a new trailer, or even a title for that matter, and it's out in a little more than 6 months. That initial trailer has to be released at some point soon, so why not on the stage of The Game Awards?Regardless of what might be happening at the show, I'm hard-pressed to believe that the Russos won't be making a rather large announcement or reveal of sorts during the program. I've been dying to see more of The Avengers Project ever since it was announced, and I really hope that this is the venue in which we finally get to see more about it.The Game Awards take place next week on December 6 at 8:30 PM EST.
