While many started off 2015 by digging into backlogs or cracking through some of the many titles released over the busy holidays, the Games Done Quick group sped into the new year with their annual charity speedrun marathon for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, and this week concluded the streaming event with a substantial contribution to cancer research.

The Awesome Games Done Quick charity group announced that their charity speedrun event concluded this week with over $1.5 million in donations being tallied over the course of the event, with donations still being calculated and more donations coming in through the group’s official Humble Bundle still being available for a few more hours (as of this writing).

With donations still being calculated as of posting, the group’s $1.5 million total easily bests the group’s $1, 031, 189 raised in the 2013 charity run, with the donations collected from the event to benefit the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
