Certain branches of American retailer GameStop are reportedly giving away copies of Babylon's Fall following the official statement from Platinum Games regarding the game's termination. Multiple users are sharing the discs they have received from the store for free, according to VGC and Cheap Ass Gamer, and many other stores don't even have any in stock to sell or give away anymore.RELATED: Babylon's Fall Servers To Be Shut Down In 2023There isn't an official statement from Square Enix yet on how the physical copies of Babylon's Fall will be handled in stores, or if refunds will be issued for people who bought the game after the termination announcement. What we do know is that Square Enix is shutting the game down after six months — specifically on November 29. The game will still continue to receive updates and maintenance until the closure date, but the termination is already set in stone. A complete list of what players can expect can also be found on the game's official website.

Babylon's fall has already been considered by reviewers as one of the worst games of 2022, with many offering criticism that from the start, the developer built it with no specific direction. The company released a survey just two months after its release, asking fans about their feedback and any other constructive tips to fix the game's problems and revive it.

The survey first focused on graphics, which were a common criticism of the game at the time, and other aspects that needed addressing, like UI, camera movement, and special effects. It was, like many live-service games, an unpolished product that wasn't ready to be delivered, causing its score to drop to 41 on Metacritic for PlayStation 5 and 46 for PC.

Physical copies of Babylon's Fall are becoming rare quickly, so some may be interested in grabbing copies for themselves. If they can find one of the branches allegedly giving the games away, they'll have to make haste before GameStop throws every copy into the Dumpster or just breaks them altogether.
