After a bewildering crash-and-burn upon launch, Babylon's Fall releases a survey to ask its players how it can begin to improve the game experience.

PlatinumGames' Babylon's Fall was all set for success, yet it received a shockingly poor reception when it launched. The cooperative action RPG released just 11 days ago on March 3, 2022, yet it has already been named one of the worst-rated console exclusives for PS5.

According to SteamDB, the game hit its concurrent players peak at just 1180 players on launch day. For a game intended to be played co-op style, it's a disappointingly low number. Even further, the game has a punishingly low score on Metacritic; critics have given Babylon's Fall a score of 37, while users are even less forgiving with a 1.5. Reviews cite everything from a poor live event structure to limited co-op to distracting visual style, leaving developers with a mountain of needed fixes.

In response to the dissatisfaction, Square Enix and PlatinumGames decided to launch a survey to first improve Babylon's Fall's graphics.

BABYLON'S FALL SURVEY ASKS PLAYERS ABOUT GAME'S GRAPHICS

Square Enix and developer PlatinumGames reached out to their community on Twitter, asking their fans to fill out a survey to "bring a better game experience" to Babylon's Fall. By gauging fan response, the developers hope to gain a clearer idea of what exactly they need to tweak.

The survey period will run from Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 23:00 –Friday, March 18, 2022, at 8:59 (PST). It encompasses the fairly broad topic of the game's graphics. Aiming to gather as much data as they can, the developers behind Babylon's Fall ask their players about everything from design to satisfaction with overall art style quality.

In truth, the survey goes beyond asking about the game's resolution or visual quality. It also hones in on design, askings its players to gauge their satisfaction with player character/NPC elements, map layout, and equipment design.

Following those questions, the survey also asks players about user experience elements, touching on UI, camera movement, and effect visibility. This shows that Square Enix and PlatinumGames are looking to improve the game's overall quality of life. Of course, it's one thing to give the game updated models, and another to smooth out gameplay; however, it's clear that the studios are dedicated to making improvements across the board.

For now, we'll have to wait and see how these responses will affect any future updates. Though, it's heartening to see developers lean on their fans for feedback and for fans to provide so much support. If you'd like to contribute your own thoughts, you can give your feedback by going to the survey page. Otherwise, Babylon's Fall is currently available to play on PS4, PS5, and PC.
