Turtle Rock Studios, a team made up of the developers of Left 4 Dead has shown off its next title: Back 4 Blood during this year's Game Awards show. Originally announced in March of 2019, this is the first time a trailer and gameplay for the game has been shown.

Back 4 Blood is a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, and that relationship extends far beyond the similar names of the two titles. Back 4 Blood was shown to follow a ton of Left 4 Dead's conventions. It's a multiplayer zombie-survival game that will task players with surviving hordes of the undead as they make their way from point A to point B. Naturally, it's a multiplayer game that will allow a squad of (again, no surprise here) four players to mow zombies down.

For Left 4 Dead fans starved for more zombie-slaying action, this is the best news that could have come during The Game Awards. Back 4 Blood also has a release date already, it will be out June 22, 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
