You could be forgiven if you've forgotten about Turtle Rock Studios' Back 4 Blood, as since the game was revealed last year little else has been shared about the title. That was until last weekend when the developers shared the first screenshot of the game on their official Twitter account giving us "a bit of Hope."The screenshot, which details what looks like an encampment with the word "HOPE" scrawled above the entrance, surrounded by a sea of spikes and barbed wire, is the first we've seen or heard of the game in quite some time.

Turtle Rock Studios are the team behind the co-op classic Left 4 Dead and it's confirmed that Back 4 Blood will very much be following in those footsteps. A co-op zombie game in which the developer stated, "You’ll be able to shoot up a lot of zombies like in Left 4 Dead, but there’s a whole lot of new stuff in Back 4 Blood which makes it unique.". In the original announcement Turtle Rock Studios also said the game will be "designed from the ground-up as an original, premium title and marries the best of what made the co-op zombie shooter so successful with new features and state-of-the-art technology.".

The only other details we know of Back 4 Blood is that it's confirmed to be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One, however since development has been ongoing for a while now it's unknown if the developers will pivot development towards the PS5 and Xbox Series X, whether they'll stick to the original plans or whether they'll offer versions across both generations.

The limited information we have on the game all sound very promising however the relative silence from the developers could be seen as a cause for concern. Hopefully though with the release of this screenshot the floodgates will open and we'll be treated to more news on how the game's progressing. Keep your eyes peeled here for more updates.
