Balan Wonderworld Gets March 2021 Release Date and New Information

Balan Wonderworld was first revealed during back in July, during the Xbox Games Showcase. The title by Square Enix was one of the more intriguing games shown at the event. Little was shown of the game during the showcase, however it was slated for a Spring 2021 release, something which has now been confirmed.
Revealed during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Presentation, Balan Wonderworld will be releasing on March 26 next year.
The game, which is being created by some of the team behind the original Sonic The Hedgehog games, Yuji Naka and Naoto Oshima, sees you explore a range of brightly coloured fantasy worlds. Within each of the 12 worlds are a variety of costumes which are designed to help you complete tasks. The clip from the Nintendo Direct showed off a few of these costumes including the Soaring Sheep, which will help you float across gaps and other obstacles and the Pumpkin Puncher, which will allow you to destroy blocks. These are just two of more than 80 costumes within the game.
The new trailer also revealed for the first time that the game would have a co-op mode. The mode will support split joy-con play and allows you to “combine your abilities and navigate through stages together.”
Balan Wonderworld joined a slew of other games during the Nintendo Direct. The showcase kicked off with the announcement of not one, but two new Monster Hunter games from Capcom. Monster Hunter Rise, a brand new adventure in the Monster Hunter universe, is due for release on the same day as Balan Wonderworld. Alongside the reveal of the two Monster Hunter games was the news that both Hades and Ori and the Will of the Wisps would be stealth releasing on the Switch.
Balan Wonderworld is releasing on March 26, 2021, on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S and Series X.
