Coming from the developers of the Divinity: Original Sin series, Baldur's Gate 3 already seems to be in capable hands with Larian Studios, as the long-awaited RPG has finally launched in Early Access. With its release yesterday on PC and Mac, Larian seems to be preparing players for the title to expand quite a bit during the course of its development, and that means you'll likely want to make sure you have plenty of hard drive space.

With the release of the Early Access version of Baldur's Gate 3 on PC and Mac, the system requirements for the Early Access build have been updated slightly on Steam and other retailers. For the most part, the hardware requirements for the title have remained unchanged (other than adding new specs for the recently-announced Mac version), with the exception of the storage requirement, which now calls for 150GB of available hard drive space.

Originally, the system requirements called for players to have at least 70GB of hard drive space set aside for Baldur's Gate 3, with the new requirement pushing that requirement over double its original size. The current build of the game comes in at around 70-80GB, so it seems more like Larian is trying to give players an estimate of the space they'll eventually need to store most (or all) of the final content for Baldur's Gate 3. As announced earlier in the year, the Early Access build of Baldur's Gate 3 is composed of the game's first act, and spans to about 25 hours of content. While obviously this build is a work in progress, the Early Access release should still give players a solid indication of what Larian is building towards with its anticipated RPG and what the final product should look like.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available now on PC and Mac through Early Access. For more on the game, stay tuned for our upcoming review on the Early Access version.
