Bandai Namco Applies for "A.W.: Phoenix Festa" Trademark in European Union

According to the European Union Intellectual Property Office, Bandai Namco has filed an application for “A.W.: Phoenix Festa.” The application is filed under Class 9 for game software and Class 41 for online game software.

It’s worth mentioning that class 41 doesn’t necessarily mean that, if we’re talking about the new game, it will be online. The class is required for any kind of online feature, including smaller ones like leaderboards and similar features.

While it isn’t immediately apparent what the game may be or where it may release, reasonable speculation may point to a Western port of currently Japan-only The Asterisk War: Houka Kenran released late 2015 on PlayStation Vita, or a new title in the same series.  The Asterisk War (“A.W.” for all those following along) light novel/manga/anime series just so happens to incorporate a “Phoenix Festa,” a tournament in that world.
