Bandai Namco has announced at Sony's latest State Of Play event that their futuristic dystopian game, Synduality, will release in 2023. The publisher is working in collaboration with developer Game Studio to create their latest project for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

One of the brand-new games shown in the State Of Play event was Synduality from Bandai Namco, a third-person shooter game set in a dystopian world where humankind and artificial intelligence were forced to work together to survive. The game follows the story of this futuristic world ruined by "The Tears of the Moon".

Humanity must live underground to stay alive as they collaborate with the AI called Magnus. As its reveal trailer hints, the base premise of the game is that players will direct Magnus to help them in combat, guide them when they lost, and warn them when needed. In order to collect AO crystals on the surface, players must overcome bloodthirsty creatures known as Enders.

"SYNDUALITY is set in a dystopian future where poisonous rain and deformed creatures wreak havoc on the world, where you and your AI partner must find a way to work together and reclaim lost ground for humanity. Adding to the excitement, we have partnered with prominent designers Neco (for character design) and Gyobu (for mech design) to bring their unique science-fiction style to the game." The Producer of Synduality, Yosuke Futami, revealed the game's story background via the PlayStation blog.

According to the development team, Synduality has players saving humanity from living in Amasia, which was built underground to avoid genocide. According to the developer team, players will take on missions in an armed robot that will protect them from threats on the surface. Called Cradle Coffin, players can customize their appearance and weapons to reflect their style. Synduality also features a PVP mode, in which the other players can get on your way while collecting crystals. Lastly, it was stated that there will be unique dialogues between humans and AI in different situations as the relationship between them will impact the story.

Bandai Namco has not given an exact release date for Synduality at the first reveal. The game will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam sometime in 2023. In other PlayStation news, Team Ninja revealed their PlayStation exclusive RPG Ronin for 2024.
