Batman: The Animated Series is one of the best cartoons ever created. And, if you're looking for a board game publisher to make a game based on a popular IP, you can't do much better than IDW Games. This week, publisher and IP have teamed up to finally release their much-anticipated Kickstarter. It's still early days, but they've already cleared $700,00 and have three weeks left to go.

Batman: The Animated Series Adventures - Shadow of the Bat is IDW's next Adventures game. It's the same system they used to make their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game and means that the two games will be compatible. The game can either be played as a 4v1 competitive mode or a four-player co-op against the A.I. Either way, you'll be pitting some of Gotham's best heroes against the toughest members of the Batman Rogues Gallery.

If you decide to pick this up, expect to get a hefty box in the mail. Just the base package contains 40 total miniatures, and that's not even counting the already unlocked stretch goals. And, for big Batman fans, you can grab the "All-In" pledge, which is a monster. For $225 you'll get the base game, an Arkham Asylum big-box expansion, two characters packs, and two story packs. It's almost too much content.

Batman: The Animated Series Adventures - Shadow of the Bat is on Kickstarter for 20 more days. Personally, I don't have the room for this much plastic on my shelf. That said, if you're looking for a game with great minis and love the Batman, this could be a great project to jump in on.
