After their numerous treks through the world of Pandora in the Borderlands titles, developer Gearbox Software is preparing a whole new type of multiplayer experience with the upcoming shooter Battleborn, and ahead of its final release coming in May, the studio is giving a chance for players to test drive the experience in the upcoming open beta in April.
Gearbox announced that the open beta for Battleborn will officially begin starting with PS4 players on April 8th, 2016 – after that, Xbox One and PC players will be able to join the beta on April 13th, with the open beta wrapping up for all platforms on April 18th, 2016.
Pre-loading for the beta will be available for all platforms on April 6th, 2016 – specifically, the Battleborn beta will come in at 8.5GB for the PS4 version, 11GB for Xbox One, and 12GB for the PC version.
The open beta for Battleborn will offer players with a variety of content to try out ahead of the game’s final release, with the open beta specifically to include two story missions, two multiplayer modes (Incursion and Meltdown), and access to the game’s progression and loot system.
The beta will also provide players with access to all of the game’s 25 characters in its playable roster: seven heroes will be available at the start for players to try out, while the rest of the roster can be unlocked as players rank up and complete objectives.
Battleborn will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 3rd, 2016 – in the meantime, you can also check out a brand new story trailer released for the game below:
