Battlefield 4 Players Have Found the Megalodon… or Has it Found Them?

Battlefield 4 players have been trying to find the now extinct Megalodon in the game ever since December. Now that the Naval Strike DLC has been made available to premium members, the eluse (and massive) shark has been found. A case could be made about the shark finding players however.

For science geeks like me, here is a bit of information about the Megalodon from wikipedia:

C. megalodon is regarded as one of the largest and most powerful predators in vertebrate history, and likely had a profound impact on the structure of marine communities. Fossil remains suggest that this giant shark reached a maximum length of 14–18 metres (46–59 ft), and also affirm that it had a cosmopolitan distribution. Scientists suggest that C. megalodon looked like a stockier version of the great white shark, Carcharodon carcharias.

As you can see in the video, the shark emerges when ten or more players huddle together around a buoy in the middle of the ocean. When the shark leaps out of the water, we can clearly see how massive it is. When it crashes back into the water we can see explosions and hear a monstrous roar. I don’t think the real shark caused explosions and sounded like a T-Rex when it was alive but it sure does make it more dramatic.
