DICE confirmed today on the Battlefield Battlelog that there will be more content coming to Battlefield 4 in the near future.
Battlefield 4 recently had received the last piece of DLC promised as a part of the game’s Premium season pass service called Final Stand, giving players a glimse into tomorrow with near-future weaponry. Apparently we have a few more stands to make however, with the developers stating that, “With Battlefield 4 Final Stand released, we hope and believe that you will enjoy it together with the rest of the game for a long time. However, there is one thing we want to assure you: there is more content coming for Battlefield 4.”
The additional content coming to Battlefield 4 likely has to do with the delay of Battlefield: Hardline into 2015 and the subsequent news that the next installment in the series, which likely is Battlefield 5, will not be releasing until sometime in the holiday season of 2016.
While we know that new content will be on its way presumably in 2015, what that content may be remains largely a mystery. In the post the developers do link to a survey looking for feedback on what classic maps the community would like to see re-made, so this additional content will most likely at least add maps to the game. Whether or not the new Battlefield 4 content will be included as part of Premium, made available as separate paid DLC or even be free is unknown at this time.
Battlefield 4 is available now on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
