After delaying Battlefield: Hardline earlier this year after a brief beta period, EA and DICE have officially announced the new release date for the crooks vs cops game to be March 17th, 2015.

Over on a post on the Battlefield Blog, a new post revealed the date of the new entry into the series with its decidedly different battlefield of our home streets. The announcement comes right on the heels of EA confirming a 2015 launch window for Star Wars: Battlefront 3 and the next installment of the Battlefield series, likely Battlefield 5, will be released in 2016.

Battlefield: Hardline's story is set to take place in Miami with officer Nick Mendoza and his partner Khai Minh Dao following the drug supply chain from the streets to the source that leads the pair to realize that power and corruption can affect both sides of the law.Meanwhile, the multiplayer takes on a much more black and white view of the law with teams divided into crooks or cops, with teamwork being essential to pull off the perfect heist or big crime bust.

Are you ready for the next Battlefield game? Do you like the setting or is the militarization of police officers a touchy subject for you? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
