Stunlock Studios announced today that Battlerite, its "PvP arena brawler" that is a spiritual successor to Bloodline Champions and popular with both players and streamers, will be leaving Steam Early Access and be going free-to-play on November 8. To celebrate this announcement and having passed over 1 million downloads, the game will be getting a free week between September 25 and October 1.

During the free week, the game will be discounted by 50%, so players can pick it up for only $9.98. Even with the game entering its commercial launch state soon, content updates don't look to be slowing down anytime soon. During Battlerite's free week, a Halloween event will start and run for the following five weeks. This event will add unique Halloween-themed weapons, avatars, and Legendary outfits.

In October, a pre-launch patch will be released that will allow players to build their own loadouts of five Battlerites before each match, remove round-based tiers, and add some new Battlerites while also balancing existing ones. The game's UI will also be getting an overhaul next month. When the game goes free-to-play in November, a new champion, new music, and over 200 new will be added to Battlerite.

Peter Ilves, Game Director at Stunlock Studios, had the following to say about Battlerite finally leaving Early Access, while also highlighting the game's upcoming free week:

"We are super excited to enter ‘A New Era’ with Battlerite heading into a full free to play commercial launch this November. For the occasion, we are offering Battlerite free of charge for one week from September 25th together with an incredible sale across the board on Steam which will give new players a taste of what they can expect.”
