Battletech Gets Release Date and New Story Trailer

Battletech is coming back to the genre it really belongs to, with Harebrained Schemes ready to deliver a nostalgic turn-based strategy title.

Once upon a time, my generation of gamers used to simulate epic battles among mechs on hexagon-based maps laid on the top of our tables. It was the time of Battletech, Aerotech, and Mechwarrior. It was the time in which our guiding stars weren’t named Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft, but FASA, Games Workshop, and TSR.

That time will at least in small part come back thanks to Harebrained Schemes and Paradox, that are bringing Battletech back to our PCs as a turn-based strategy game, which is the genre to which the franchise truly belongs.

Today, the release date has been announced, and we’ll finally bl able to play the game on April 24th.

On top of the release date, we also get a story trailer, that you can watch below. If you want to see more, you can also enjoy another trailer, giving us a glimpse on simulation gameplay and on the open-ended campaign.

I don’t know about you, but I’m quite excited about this.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
