Developer Harebrained Schemes and publisher Paradox Interactive have announced a new expansion coming to 2018's BattleTech. Urban Warfare takes the fight to the streets with lots of new content for players to enjoy. Give the trailer a look below:

BattleTech released last year to critical acclaim. Soon after, Harebrained Schemes was acquired by Paradox Interactive in large part because of the success of BattleTech. Now, the game is getting its second expansion. Urban Warfare takes the game from the wide-open plains to the cramped streets of the city. Of course, those streets won't stay cramped for long as every building is fully destructible. This means the battlefield is constantly changing, forcing players to stay on their toes as the missiles fly.

The new expansion will also introduce two new BattleMechs. The Raven 1X is a lightweight fighter that has both Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) and an Active Probe. The ECM allows the mech to obscure itself and other friendlies from enemy targeting, while the probe lets it find hidden enemy units. Meanwhile, the Javelin brings close-range knockout power and speed to the battlefield.

There will also be a number of new flashpoints. These branching short stories connect the many other tales and events happening throughout the game. New enemies include support and reconnaissance vehicles that make use of the ECM and Active Probe abilities. Harebrained Schemes is also introducing a new encounter called "Attack and Defend", which challenges players to fend off waves of enemies and protect their employer's base.

BattleTech: Urban Warfare is lighting the fireworks on PC on June 4, 2019.
