Today, Microsoft announced Battletoads is coming to the modern age with a new trailer for the game during the 2018 Xbox E3 2018 Briefing. The game will be arriving on Xbox One and PC in 2019 in partnership with DLaLa Studios.

Battletoads is an old and storied franchise, featuring all the toad-y goodness of main characters Rash, Zitz, and Pimples. Originally conceived as a competitor to Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesBattletoads has long been a franchise fans have wanted to see return from the dead (excluding the cartoon, hopefully).

Now, Battletoads is back, featuring “body morphing genre mash-ups”, three player couch co-op, and 4k hand-drawn 2.5D graphics. While we don’t get to see much of what the new Battletoads looks like, we do see that there will be three-player co-op, so more than likely, Rash, Zitz, and Pimples will be returning to the spotlight in this latest iteration.

You can expect to see the beloved toad-y franchise return on Xbox One and PC in 2019, and hopefully, we will get to see some images of the toad-gang and their shenanigans soon.
