It's been already three years since Nintendo and Platinum Games hyped millions of gamers around the world with a brief teaser at The Game Awards 2017, announcing Bayonetta 3. However, since then, we haven't heard anything new about the game yet. There's no update on the development process, except the fact that Bayonetta 3 is being developed among a bunch of other big and small projects at Platinum Games. However, a recent quote from Hideki Kamiya increases the chances of getting a new trailer from the game in 2021.

Speaking to VGC, Hideki Kamiya talked about some of the different projects going on in Platinum Games, but when he was asked about when they would be willing to share new details about Bayonetta 3, he confirmed vaguely that something will be shown from the game sometime in 2021. Kamiya said:

It’s not really our position to say, but… it’s January. We’ve got to have something come out, right? I guess it’s safe to expect that something will come out. There’s still a lot of the year left is what I’m saying.

However, when he was asked what type of update this "something" could be, he said:

I understand it’s driving the fans crazy! In light of that, my suggestion would be that maybe we should all reset and forget about Bayonetta 3. Then when something finally does happen, it will be a nice surprise, won’t it?

Apparently, Nintendo doesn't want to kill the surprise of an official unveil for Bayonetta 3, which makes Hideki Kamiya talk vaguely about the upcoming updates of the game, but it sounds like a new trailer from the game will surely come out this year if nothing unexpected comes out.

It's been already seven years since the launch of Bayonetta 2, the last iteration of the franchise that was released on Wii U originally, with Switch versions arriving earlier in 2018.
