Beautiful New Screenshots Released for Batman: Arkham Origins

Update: Forgot to mention a very important character also shown in the screenshots, Deathstroke, who should also make this game very interesting. Thanks to J.R. for reminding me!

Five new screenshots have been released today for the upcoming game Batman: Arkham Origins. Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal and is scheduled for release on October 25th for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.

The screens include shots of the GCPD (Gotham City Police Department), Batman taking out a few mooks (including one that had on an armband labeled “Penguin”) and of Black Mask, the main antagonist of Origins.

What’s interesting to note is that if there’s a thug working for Penguin, then Penguin most likely will have some bearing on the story–even possibly clashing with Black Mask, since they both have had control over the criminal underworld in the comics at some point. Personally, I’m actually very excited to see Black Mask as the main villain of this game because he’s such an underused character–if given to a writer who can portray him well (Judd Winick for example), he can really shine.
