Best Buy Giving Away BioShock Infinite After Preorder Fiasco

As reported by SideQuesting (via Joystiq), Best Buy is giving copies of BioShock Infinite to customers who preordered the game after a recent mess up that cancelled thousands of oreorders.

One such example of the message that was sent out to customers reads as follows:

“Recently, your order for X360-BIOSHOCK INFINITE PREMIUM EDITION (6970182) was cancelled in error. I apologize and understand the confusion and inconvenience that this has caused.

We would like to make it up to you by sending you this product, via expedited shipping, free of charge. You can expect to receive your product around the street date or when the inventory becomes available.”

This generous service applies to both PS3 and Xbox 360 orders, and includes not only the regular editor, but the special editions as well (including the $149.99 Songbird Edition).

Why Ratchet & Clank is the Most Important PS5 Game

I wonder if this will increase the number of preorders that come Best Buy’s way…
