Characters in fighting games vary. Some of them look like generic buff guys that mastered a martial art while others are a Frankenstein's Monster strapped to a bed with saw attacks. This list aims to look at the latter. It aims to find some of the most interesting characters that have been designed in video games. These characters will need to be unique in their appearance as well as the way that they fight.

So that this is more interesting all of the characters chosen from this list are from a different game. This will shine a light on many titles that present characters distinct from the fighting genre.

10 10/10 Juri - Super Street Fighter 4

Juri From Street Fighter IV

Juri was first introduced to the series in Super Street Fighter 4 and was a fan favorite right away. The contrast in her spiderlike dudou and baggy pants makes her stand out. Her character in the game is exemplified by her design as she is one of Seth's underlings who only cares about power. This can be shown in her demon-like figure which is pronounced in her horn-styled hair.

What makes Juri so great is that her moves tend to be some of the flashiest in the game. She's able to put a lot of pressure on her opponents and put down some big damage.

9 9/10 B.B. Hood - Darkstalkers

BB Hood From Darkstalkers Resurrection

B.B. Hood was one of the first human characters in the Darkstalkers series which is a fighting game based on monsters. She appears very reminiscent of what little red riding hood looks like except underneath her facade of kindness is a terrifying killing machine. What makes her design even more absorbing is how she uses her moves on enemies.

B.B. Hood is always hiding something underneath her dress and in her basket. She's packed with land mines and loaded Uzis willing to unleash a frenzy of bullets on all enemies that she comes across.

8 8/10 Black Manta - Injustice 2

Black Manta Injustice 2

Black Manta in Injustice 2 looks like a sleek super-agent of evil. His giant mask doesn't feel goofy as it sometimes does in other iterations of black manta. All of his design feels naturally placed and exactly what players would expect from a deep-sea villain.

Black Manta is also equipped with a jet pack that lets him float around the maps freely. He can use it to land combos on enemies from above. His red glowing eyes can shoot a laser beam at foes and he packs an arsenal of weapons hidden around his body.

7 7/10 Inkling - Super Smash Bros Ultimate

All Of The Splatoons Skins Smash Ultimate

Inkling in Super Smash Bros Ultimate is bright and full of action. Every Inkling skin designed in the game is meant to look like a replica of some of the character designs in the Splatoon game series. There's a lot to love in these designs that scream for players to look at them in their color-palette designs.

The move set is what makes Inkling stand out as they can unload paint onto their opponent and the map. The player will be running around with a giant paint roller trying to bury their opponents. They can also shoot bombs that will explode into a firework of color. The design of every attack is pretty to witness and the charging animation to regain pain adds a level of suspense to the character's playstyle.

6 6/10 Alisa Bosoconovitch - Tekken 6: Bloodline

Alissa Bosoconovitch Tekken 6

Alisa Bosoconovitch allows players to fight as a kind android who also can turn into a death machine. In Tekken 6: Bloodline she is meant to resemble her creator's dead daughter. Her porcelain white robotic limbs and angel wing-like jet pack make her have an angelic appearance. Though when facing any opponent they won't be feeling the same way.

Her combos are what fear is made of. She's able to convert her arms into chainsaws. Her jetpack also gives her an added boost of speed that lets her run up on her opponents to land devastating hits.

5 5/10 Kotal Khan - Mortal Kombat X

Kotal Kahn Mortal Kombat X

Kotal Kahn was first introduced in Mortal Kombat X. However, Kotal feels like he has held a spot in the series for a while. In a game as violent as Mortal Kombat, it only makes sense that they would base a character on the Aztec eagle warrior. His headdress resembles that of Huitzilopochtli--the Aztec sun and war god. He is symbolic of a powerful leader in all the aesthetic choices that the art directors decided to take in his design.

He also wields powerful weapons and different totems that are used to gain control of his opponent in battle. His fatalities are interestingly designed with one of them having him summon an alter which he places and then crushes the head of his opponent.

4 4/10 Bedman - Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-

Guilty Gear Bedman Villain

Bedman from Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- has a character design. He's a mad genius who is asleep on a robot bed because he's so smart that being awake would destroy his brain. His mechanical bed wears a little hat with a cross on it. This alludes to the character's allegiance with the pope.

The moves that this character presents are also well done. A lot of them involve attacks with the bed's saw arms. The bed also has saw-like transformations. The character is an interesting sight to behold. A sleeping man strapped to a bed as a fighting game character has never been done before.

3 3/10 Tom And Jerry - MultiVersus

Tom and Jerry Shaking Hands With Weapons In Their Off Hands

Tom and Jerry in MultiVersus are a pair of characters that work as one character. The player mainly controls Tom during battles which makes it a lot harder to lose track of the characters. The two characters are normal and feel exactly like what they were in the show. This is what makes them so intelligently designed.

The entire time that the Tom and Jerry character duo are fighting an opponent the moves play out like the television show. Tom is trying to do harm or catch Jerry and through this, he will attack enemies. He will set down mouse traps or even run at Jerry with a hammer. It's one of the most eccentric fighting experiences a player can get.

2 2/10 Peacock - SkullGirls

Peacock In Skullgirls

Peacock from SkullGirls is one of the wackier characters in Skullgirls' already fantastic arsenal of quirky characters. She looks like a character made of different wrapped pieces of cloth and stands like a cartoon character reminiscent of the late 1920s or early 1930s cartoons in America. Her gloves even look like an homage to Mickey Mouse.

All of her attacks are also cartoonish with a gun that will sometimes shoot out a knife or another gun instead of a bullet. She has goons that will help her out in battle as well. She relies on them a lot to keep combos going. When she's in her zone the battlefield is a sight that players won't want to look away from.

1 1/10 Voldo - SoulCalibur

Voldo From Soulcalibur

Voldo has been around since the beginning of the SoulCalibur series. He was even in the very first game of the entire series Soul Edge. Voldo's design is that of a killer who only seeks to do his dead master's bidding. This leads him into full-blown insanity which is explained by his lore.

He has a spider-like appearance and is truly one of the scariest characters in fighting games. He is bandaged where his eyes and tongue should be. Voldo's outfits look like those of a soldier that would be guarding the gates of Hell. None of his attacks of movements look natural and are specific to a style of fighting that looks like a waking nightmare.
