Making their return to Pokemon GO raids for what feels like the hundredth time is the Legendary Bird Trio of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.

The Pokemon are back as part of the Mischief Unbound research, meaning players are once again looking to do what they can to take them down and catch them.

To help you decide which ones to go for, here is our breakdown of which is the best Legendary Bird in Pokemon GO in 2021.

3. Moltres

In third place, and by quite a significant margin, is the fiery bird, Moltres.

It has by far the lowest ranking across all three of Pokemon GO's PVP leagues and according to PVPoke, its highest ranking comes as the 56th best choice in the Master League.

It sadly fares far worse than that in the other two leagues, placing 360th in the Great League and 202nd in the Ultra League. It has an average ranking of 206th across all three divisions.

If there's one of the Legendary Birds that certainly isn't the best in Pokemon GO, it's Moltres.

2. Zapdos

Putting in a far better performance than its Fire-type counterpart is Zapdos.

The Electric-type bird peaks at a respectable 26th place in the Ultra League before coming 87th in the Great League and 125th in the Master League. This gives it an average position of 79th across all three leagues.

While there are likely better options in the game, you can't go too far wrong with a really solid Zapdos.

1. Articuno

Ensuring it deserves the "Uno" in its name and coming in at the number one spot is Articuno.

The Ice-type Pokemon matches Zapdos' best placing of 26th, this time in the Ultra League, however, has a better all-round performance. Its 109th placing in the Great League and 45th placing in the Master League give it an average position of 60th and crowning it the best Legendary Bird in Pokemon GO.
