Today, Bethesda announced a new game in the form of Starfield at the Bethesda’s E3 2018 Press Conference. Little is known about the game so far aside from the fact that it is planned to be the first installment in the series and will be the first wholly original IP from Bethesda in over 25 years.

While Todd Howard introduced the game near the end of the conference, a great deal of mystery still surrounds this new title. Obviously, the game will take place in space and feature a sci-fi setting, as illustrated by the announcement teaser below. We also see imagery of what appears to be a pointed satellite or space station hovering above an arid planet.

Aside from that, we know next to nothing officially about Starfield just yet, ranging from its release timeframe to even release platforms. There have been rumors swirling about a new IP from Bethesda, so it will be interesting to see where the powerhouse publisher and developer will take this new, original gaming experience as more is revealed. Bethesda describes the game as a "next-generation single-player epic" on their Twitter announcement for it.
