Bethesda Softworks revealed today the main voice over cast for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and there sure are some big names there, in stark contrast with the previous chapter of the series, Oblivion, that didn't exactly shine for it's voice acting.

Christopher Plummer (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Insider, A Beautiful Mind), plays Arngeir, a powerful Greybeard elder. An order of philosopher monks that dells atop Skyrim’s largest mountain.

Max Von Sydow (The Exorcist, Minority Report, The Gladiator), plays the role of Esbern, a chronicler and covert agent of the Blades.

Joan Allen (The Contender, The Bourne Ultimatum, Face Off), lends her voice to Delphine, one of the few remaining members of the Blades.

Lynda Carter (“Wonder Woman”), voices Gormlaith Golden-Hilt, one of the Nord heroes who overthrew the dragons in ancient times. As an additional note, she voiced all the female Orcs and Nords in Oblivion.

The cast also includes:

  • Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica), who plays Imperial General Tullius.
  • Vladimir Kulich (The 13th Warrior, Smoking Aces) lends his voice to General Tullius' enemy Ulfric Stormcloak.
  • Claudia Christian (Babylon 5, The Hidden) voices Legate Rikke, General Tullius’s chief lieutenant.
  • Diane Louise Salinger (Carnivale, Batman Returns), Renee Victor (Weeds), and George Coe (Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Kramer vs. Kramer) round out the cast of more than 70 different voice actors delivering over 60,000 lines of dialogue.
Better than the six Voice Actors of Oblivion for sure.
