Ever since the announcement of a new Indiana Jones game by Bethesda Softworks at the beginning of this year, fans have been eager to know whether or not it will be an Xbox exclusive title.

Bethesda confirmed back in January that they would be developing a new Indiana Jones game, fresh off the release of the hugely successful Deathloop, which was in fact a timed PlayStation exclusive. In the announcement, Bethesda said that Indiana Jones would feature an original story and be executive produced by Todd Howard, who is best known for leading the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series.

Unfortunately, as the title is still in the early stages of development, it will be some time before any further announcements are made. This has caused many to speculate on numerous elements, including whether or not Indiana Jones will be an Xbox exclusive title, following Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda.

Industry Insiders Debate Indiana Jones Xbox Exclusivity

It appears as though even two reputable industry insiders can't seem to settle on an answer. Reports began circulating over the weekend that Indiana Jones would not be an Xbox exclusive title after industry insider Jez Corden revealed the details on 'The Xbox Two' podcast.

After a discussion surrounding exclusive PlayStation titles was brought up, Indiana Jones being an Xbox exclusive was thrown into the mix, but Jez replied saying, "It isn't, I pretty much know it isn't". Jez did go on to say that he found that out a long time ago, so details could have changed.

This then prompted a response from a fellow insider,

" rel="nofollow">Shpeshal_Nick, who simply said "I was told it was exclusive". Although both parties are incredibly reliable when it comes to inside information, it appears as though someone's source isn't correct this time around. Or, one has more up to date information than the other. Although insiders receive specific details before an official announcement, plans can often change behind the scenes.

For now, it's probably best to wait for an official announcement from Bethesda themselves. But with development still in the very early stages, don't expect to know the answer anytime soon.
