Ubisoft Releases New Gameplay Footage for Beyond Good and Evil 2 Detailing Augment System and Co-Op
New footage for Beyond Good and Evil 2 has been unveiled with the focus being on augments, vehicles, and co-op.
Along with announcing the addition of a new studio joining the larger team working on Beyond Good and Evil 2 today, Ubisoft has also released new alpha footage for the game and it continues to look quite ambitious.
The focus of today’s new gameplay is on that of a new augment system, which allows you to enhance your weapons and give them special abilities. Some of these unique abilities include freezing enemies in place with electricity or snaring enemies in a time-slowing vortex. Enemies can also use augments as well, which means you’ll have to perform some reconnaissance before engaging in battle to know how best to prepare for a fight.
Another aspect that this new video touches on in Beyond Good and Evil 2 is that of co-op. Unlike the first game, BG&E2 will offer co-op multiplayer that is drop-in drop-out. In addition, both players don’t have to be performing the same task or mission while in the world together. If one player wants to run off and do their own thing, that’s perfectly acceptable.
The last element that is touched on in this video is that of vehicles and the multitude that you’ll have at your disposal. In addition to your mothership which will serve as your base of operations, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will allow you to pilot a variety of different ships with many different examples being shown in the video. It’s also shown just how seamless it will be to travel about the game’s massive open world in these vehicles.
You can find the new gameplay video below for your own viewing pleasure. Beyond Good and Evil 2 still doesn’t have a release window and platforms haven’t been announced either, so it seems like it’ll be quite awhile until we get our hands on this one for ourselves.
