Beyond Good and Evil 2 is Skipping E3 and Holding a Livestream Next Week Instead
Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be showcased during the Space Monkey Report #5 livestream next week but it won't be at E3 2019.
While Ubisoft will be attending E3 2019 and holding a press conference, we will actually be getting our next look at Beyond Good and Evil 2 before the annual show. Ubisoft confirmed on the game’s website today that yet another Space Monkey Report livestream about Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be held on June 5.
Officially titled Space Monkey Report #5, the June 5 livestream is poised to be available on Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube at 12pm ET that day. Beyond Good and Evil 2’s development has heavily involved the community, so the developers see it as necessary to continue this series of livestreams to keep fans updated. While the developers were coy about what exactly will be shown or announced at the livestream, they did say that Ubisoft does “look forward to sharing more with you, including new gameplay footage, when the time is right.”
While it’s great that we are finally getting the first Space Monkey Report livestream of 2019, we also learned that Beyond Good and Evil 2 will actually not be at E3 this year. Apparently, Ubisoft decided not to show the game off once again “as we are focusing on core development milestones.” E3 appearances typically mean lengthy trailers or even entire gameplay demos have to be created outside of the actual development pipeline, so it makes sense that the several studios working on Beyond Good and Evil 2 would opt to show what they have done in a livestream instead of taking pivotal time out of the game’s development to focus on an E3 appearance.
Stay tuned to DualShockers for any interesting Beyond Good and Evil 2 news that comes out of Space Monkey Report #5. I’m hoping we get release window or platform confirmation during the livestream as we still don’t know when and on what platforms the will arrive.
